Well, I have made it back home! I caught an early flight on Sunday morning and was picked up at SeaTac airport by my mom and sister. It's been nice being back home and not having to get up early and on the bike every morning, though I have found that I am not so good at sitting around and not doing much. I've spent the past week going on hikes and hanging out with my family and reuniting with friends.
Looking back on this incredible journey that I took this summer I am very proud of what I have accomplished. I met some of the most incredible people who hosted me across the country and saw some of the most amazing places that this country has to offer. I can also now say that I have ridden a bicycle across the United States/North America - definitely feels pretty awesome to be able to say that! I know that I will always cherish the memories of this trip and I will forever be grateful for all of the amazing people who helped me along the way.
Thank you to everyone who supported me in my journey whether it was a place to stay, a homecooked meal, a shower, or emails, texts and calls to show your support. I have been a bit overwelmed with all of the attention that I have received but I absolutely loved sharing the experience with everyone else - it kept me going!
To any of you who don't think that you could ever do what I did this summer, I suggest you give it a try. I think you would be surprised how much you can accomplish if you set your mind to it. Like I said before starting this trip - It has always been mind over matter!
