Today was another good day of riding! Joop and I were up and out of the camp and on the road at 7. We didn't have too much elevation to deal with today, just rolling hills.

After about 35 miles we stopped in at Radford at the Radford coffee shop - it was a very nice shop!We then cycled through Christiansburg and then stopped at a mini mart about 5 miles out of town to make our lunch and get a few things since it would be the last mart we pass for the day.

The second half of the day was a bit more tough. The hills were about the same, but the heat of the sun was much more intense and made us a little more tired. We made our way to the Four Pines Hostel in Catawba, a hostel for Appalachian Trail hikers and TransAm cyclists (This is another intersecting area for the two trails).

We have passed by a lot of houses waving confederate flags. Especially in Eastern Kentucky and Virginia.

When we arrived at the hostel we were greeted by Joe Mitchell, a nice man with long hair. He offered us cool drinks and popsicles and made us feel at home right away. We spent the remainder of the day hanging around at the hostel, conversing with the hikers of the Appalachian Trail and playing corn hole.

The dragon wagon! Joe let us drive this van to the store to pick up some beer Chickens, Turkeys, Ducks, Dogs, Cats... They're all here!
