Today I finally took my first rest day. I didn't do a whole lot today, and it was awesome! I still woke up pretty early because my body clock wont let me sleep in much anymore and I have a hard time getting back to sleep once the sun starts showing up.
Jim left really early for Jackson, and Sam and his girlfriend left fairl early as well because Sam had to work for the day in Laramie, so I had the whole cabin to myself! After I made myself a small breakfast I started writing out blog posts for the past few days. I also downloaded a recovery software to recover about half of the pictures that I took yesterday.
After working on my computer for about an hour I was invited up to Anna's place for coffee and pancakes before she left for Steamboat Springs for the day. While enjoying a later second breakfast Anna and I talked about what my next few days would be like. She suggested that I change my route to come up through Rocky Mountain National Park to make it to Denver rather than going to Fort Collins then South because she thought I would enjoy the scenery a lot more. I told her that was a great idea but I didn't want to have to go all the way out to Laramie then have to head West to get down to Walden. Luckily, she knew a route that would cut down from Centennial and put my out at Woods Landing, though I would have to go about 10 miles on a dirt road. She also said that she would be heading down that road today to get to Steamboat Springs and she would let me know the condition of the road.
I headed back to Sam's cabin so Anna could get ready to go to Steamboat Springs, and I spent most of the rest of the day finishing up writing out the blogs as well as planning out my new route for the next week or so. I enjoyed some time on the porch while working on this, and took my time and relaxed most of the day.
When Sam and Taylor returned we pretty much continued to chill and hang out. I told Sam about my new route plans and he was super excited about my decision. He also takes that route to get to Steamboat Springs, so he gave me the full rundown of what to expect for the next day. Then Sam cooked up some delicious burritos, and I decided that I would do the dishes again.
After dinner we listened to some music and hung around while Sam was packing for his upcoming trip to Telluride before eventually heading to bed. Although today was fairly uneventful, it was much needed! I was able to program the subscription to my blog so that people who are subscribed FINALLY get email notifications, and I also made a few more pages to make things easier for me on the admin side of the blog.
